Author Biography
Verna Gillis, (1942 – 20 ) participated in her first slam in 2010 at age 68 in an event sponsored by TMI. The theme was Coming of Age which she changed to Coming of Aging. She won the slam and it turned into a life changing orientation. She has performed at the Woodstock Comedy Festival, 4 on the Floor in Phoenicia, NY, and appearances in NYC at the Metropolitan Room, “Character Flawed” at StandUp NY, the SHE DEVIL COMEDY FESTIVAL where her work was voted the most Original. In the summer of 2014 her One Older-Woman TALES FROM GERIASSIC PARK – On the Verge of Extinction participated in the fringeny int’l theater festival, and the United Solo Theater Festival where TALES received Best Comedic Script Award. She has previously published I JUST WANT TO BE INVITED – I Promise Not to Come (Life as one-liners).
