by Susan Gangsei (Author)

Stuck With It, Not In It is a collection of stories from people with Parkinson’s disease (PD), family members of people living with the illness, volunteers for Parkinson’s-related organizations, and professionals specializing PD. Each story is personal and has a message. The stories tell how people faced the disease, stared it down and found new ways of going forward. They refocused and redefined their purpose in life. They learned lessons that they want to share with others–anyone who lives with Parkinson’s or wants to understand what life is like for people dealing with a chronic disease.

Author Biography

Susan Gangsei is an author, speaker, artist and marketing professional. She was also a family caregiver for her husband, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2000 and passed away in 2013. Susan worked in marketing for more than thirty years before writing her first book, The Light in the Middle of the Tunnel: Harrowing but Hopeful Stories of Parkinson’s Family Caregivers, a “let-others-help-you” book in which caregivers share their distressing, sometimes overwhelming feelings – and their hard-won self-care skills and wisdom. Today Susan dedicates her skills, experience and time to working with those who live with Parkinson’s. She writes about the disease’s impact on people and speaks and leads workshops at events and conferences across the country for caregivers and the families of Parkinson’s patients. Stuck With It but Not In It: Redefining Life with Parkinson’s Disease is Susan’s second book. She can be reached at Susan@TheLightintheMiddleoftheTunnel.com.
