Studying a single subject for three, four, or five weeks is common in Waldorf schools. This immersion into a single subject allows for deeper more complete learning. Here is a comprehensive description of the journey through different “blocks,” as they are called, used in grades one through twelve in Waldorf schools. The author, an experienced Waldorf teacher, describes like a story of a long trip through different “lands” the things he learned while teaching youngsters. That’s one of the glories of the Waldorf School plan: everybody learns together! The result is developed through research with the University of Applied Sciences, Leiden, Netherlands.
