What is “identity?” Is it simply a number on a social security card? Is it the influences in our immediate lives who have made us who we are? Or, rather, is “identity” a creation of the mind made through a combination of experiences–who we are as people, what we have done, what we have been through. Perhaps it is no more than our DNA–the molecules that comprise the fabric of our being. Each poem is a moment, each verse a memory; each line–a construction of a vibration that we can feel stirring in our bones. In the marrow of who I am, this is my “identity.”
