About the Book

THREE GIRLS. ONE INSTA PAGE. ZERO CHILL. TEENAGE LIFE IS NOW IN FULL CHAOS MODE.

Fourteen-year-old Bhanupriya Vaishnavi Puttuswamy, or Riya in school, is DONE living by everyone else’s rules. Her parents speak a different language (not literally … but basically), her life is chaos and her brain is permanently in ?! mode.

So she and her besties, Sam and Alisa, do what any sensible teen would do: start an Instagram profile @Being-an-Indian-Teen and hope the universe sends help. Instead, it sends drama, followers, unexpected fame, and a whole lot of ‘Wait … What just happened?’

This is the hilarious, heartfelt story of three girls trying to figure out life, parents, friendships, crush-adjacent situations, and who they actually want to be.

Welcome to teenagerhood-messy, magical and absolutely Insta-worthy.

About the Author

Pooja Marwah is a storyteller, drama queen, content strategist and author-also known as the devil who doesn’t wear Prada. She writes the way she lives: fuelled by ideas, coffee and the belief that words can move mountains. Her journey began in a parking lot, where she drafted chapters while waiting for her kids. This book was born during lockdown, when she and her children became reluctant roommates in a real-life sitcom. If you enjoy mischief and honest reflection, you’ll feel right at home with her writing.
